Privacy Policy

How Stratos on Tech handles your data and your privacy rights.

Last updated: 23 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data "Stratos on Tech" (this blog, at blog.stratoslouvaris.gr) collects, why, and what your rights are. This is a personal, non-commercial technology blog run by Stratos Louvaris. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Stratos Louvaris, the owner and operator of this blog, based in Greece (EU). You can reach me about anything on this page at [email protected].

What data I collect

  • Your email address, and optionally your name, when you subscribe to the newsletter using the sign-up form on this site. This is the only personal data I actively collect.
  • Basic technical data that any website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, processed by the hosting and content-delivery layer (see "Who processes your data" below) to serve the site and protect it from abuse.

I do not collect special-category data, I do not run advertising or third-party ad tracking, and I never buy, rent, import, or scrape contact lists. Every subscriber has added their own address through the form on this site.

  • To send you the newsletter (new-article notifications and the occasional email-only update). The legal basis is your consent, given when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time (see "Your rights").
  • To operate and secure the website. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a functioning, spam-protected site.

Who processes your data

I use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") to run the blog and deliver email. They process your data only on my instructions:

  • Ghost - the blogging platform that stores the subscriber list (self-hosted on my own infrastructure).
  • Mailgun (Sinch) - delivers the newsletter emails to subscribers.
  • Brevo - delivers transactional emails (for example the sign-in / confirmation link).
  • Cloudflare - content-delivery network and security layer in front of the site (including rate-limiting to keep automated spam sign-ups off the list).

How long I keep your data

I keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your data, your address is removed from the active list.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. In particular:

  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter email, or by emailing me.
  • You can ask me what data I hold about you and request its correction or deletion at [email protected].
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA).

Cookies

This site uses only the essential cookies needed for it to work (for example to keep you signed in as a member). It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
